Dato' Tan Yee Khan - Another Feather in the Cap for SMI

A Flashback....

On April 23, 2005, Tan Yee Khan was honoured by the SMI KL Alumni as the Michaelian Achiever of the Year for his remarkable achievements in badminton, having brought home the prestigious Thomas Cup twice - in 1965 and 1966. He partnered another Michaelian Ng Boon Bee in the badminton doubles.

This year, the LaSallian fraternity is thrilled and honoured to witness the Sultan of Perak bestowing the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the title Dato' on Tan Yee Khan, who clinched the All-England men's doubles title.

Another Michaelian Koo Kien Keat, the All-England men's doubles winner this year (with partner Tan Boon Heong), is also rewarded by His Highness for his recent achievement -with the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) award. Koo is the 2007 Michaelian Achiever of the Year.
Congratulations to both.
