Our Band Boys Hitting the Road Again

Come June 6, 2008 at 8 pm, the indomitable and greatly respectable Michaelian Military Band members will be performing at the Yuk Choy primary school hall.

This is a charity concert featuring guest band from SMK Seri Kembangan, Selangor. For a mere RM10 a ticket, let's do our part in assisting the members to raise fund to buy new musical instruments, replacing damaged and worn out items or perhaps, boost the band's image further by having the current uniform changed (the present ones have been used for some four years).

SMI band was formed during the Directorate of Brother Patrick O' Donovan in 1960. It has earned high reputation for being among the best organised band in the state, having performed splendidly at state and national-level functions.

In 2006, the Michaelian Military Band was accorded the honour to represent Malaysia at the Spring Festival in Murcia in Spain - a trip which cost more than RM600,000, with RM150,000 from the Ministry of Education and RM40,000 from the state government. We declined the offer after discussions with the Board of Governors, PIBG, the school and the Old Boys Association.

We salute the boys, present and past, who have, over the years been a great pride, reflecting a strong sense of dignity and self-respect among us at St Michael's. Thank you and our call of support goes to all of you boys.

For tickets, call: Jeffery Chan (016-5308699), Andy Lai (017-5267076) or Bryan Lee (016-5302260)

If only I can come and support St. Michael's, but alas, I have much work to do. Besides, I'm somewhere overseas too (or further, in a way)!

VIP tickets would be given for those who donate an amount of Rm100 and above
