The Ever Strong and Resilient MMB!

For two strenuous months, our boys have been on high endurance mode to perfect their skills for the Perak State Band Competition scheduled to be held on July 3, 2009 at the stadium.
This time around our boys are tying up every knot to make sure they hold their heads up high till the end.
On Monday, 22 June 2009, a group of judges will turn up at the school to assess the performance of our boys to see that they are up to the mark. I am sure our boys are ready to impress!
The schools SMI is expected to face are SMJK Nan Hwa Setiawan, Sam Tet, Anderson and ACS Sitiawan.
"We are more prepared this year. The boys have given their best," said Band Leader Tan Tihn Chern. Training sessions can go on for hours, from morning until late evening.
The boys obviously look tired and weary but they are driven powerfully by their spirit and inner strength.
Michaelian Military Band vice-chairman Lee Wai Keong said the 76-piece band has matured over the years. "We are doing what we can to ensure that the boys continue to stay strong", said Lee, who has been with the boys on their rehearsing sessions since day one.
Former band members who turn up almost daily also made the efforts to encourage the boys. Personally I am greatly inspired by these young Michaelians.

Dear Michaelians and well-wishers,
Offer a line of your words of encouragement to the boys. For me they are simply amazing!

Support them by turning up at SMI on Monday (22 June 2009) morning between 9 am and 10am. Heard that some members from the OMA will be coming. Old Michaelians who are still in Ipoh do make it a point to come over. Tour the school, go for breakfast at the food court and then proceed to the basketball court to cheer them on.
