St Michael's went high gear in celebrating the nation's 53 Independence Day. Besides the many flags we put up to adorn the school building, teachers also planned many activities for students. Among the programmed planned were drawing, colouring and painting competitions.

There were also poem recitals and sketches to commemorate Merdeka by students. A banner painting competition was also held for students. Each class had to produce a cloth banner, after which the banners produced by participating classes were stitched together to form a longer banner.

This is truly unity in diversity. Michaelians have long practised this spirit. We hope the country will prosper and continue to enjoy a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
Thank you Brother Matthew Bay for the Merdeka shots!
