Happenings At St Michael's Ipoh

Our Michaelians with the rest of the contestants
Daniel Phuan Soon Lee was calm and collected
Brandon Loo in his elements
St Michael's participated in the Sathya Sai Human Values Public Speaking Competition held in Ipoh recently. We sent in two Form Six boys, facing off with five other educational institutions - Teachers' Training Institute, UTAR, Anderson, ACS and Ungku Omar Polytechnic. Despite limited time to practise, our boys gave the rivals a good, courageous fight. Our presentation was good and points strongly delivered. We congratulate the duo for a job well done.
The competition saw twelve contestants. Our Brandon and Daniel were the only two who proudly started their introduction with the school or institution they are from. What a way to show their loyalty and respect to SMI. I thank Puan Shafinazaida for coaching the boys.

Pertandingan Forum Remaja Zon 2 Daerah Kinta Utara
Tahniah diucapkan.

Parent-Teacher Association of SMI 2013/2014
The 39th Annual General Meeting of the PTA of SMI was held on March 14, 2013. Mr Joseph Michael Lee helms the committee while Dato' Niza is the deputy chairman. Among the parents who sit on the committee are Mr Anthony Lourdes, Mr Thomas Wong, Mr Leslie D' Silva, Mr Andrew Leong, Mr Saranjit Singh and Mr Nadarajah.
We look forward to another term of fruitful and close working relationship. Congratulations from us at St Michael's Ipoh.
Participants of 2012 LEAD program.
La Salle Centre-organised La Sallian Expedition and Development Camp (LEAD) continues to leave an impact among Form Two boys for the past seven years.  We got hold of last year's batch who were selected to undergo the program and asked them how they were doing. Looking at the photo above gives us many answers. They remembered the activities they took part and one of their greatest achievements was how they managed to spend three days away from home, learning new things and getting independent. These boys carry themselves well in school. While a few still give their teachers restless moments in the classroom, these boys at least have other Michaelians to guide and assist them.

A Refreshing Start - The Revival of Michaelian Oath among Michaelians
We, Michaelians pledge ourselves at all times in the spirit of our motto "Quis Ut Deus"...

To be loyal to God and our country, to our school and to our class...
The school plans to carry out this practice on a monthly basis.
